.meet me halfway.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s I've learned that there were so many cheesy movies out there (which I love, love, love).  And this movie, Over the Top is definitely one of them.  Cheesy? Yes. But it still had a great story which showed the relationship between a young boy and his father. It was really sweet.

I can remember my brothers and I watching this movie and soon after would arm wrestle each other doing the "over the top" move.  I have to admit that my favorite part of the movie was this Kenny Loggins song.

Enjoy the clip. And if you haven't seen the movie, check it out. It's a good watch for a rainy afternoon.

.it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...MOVIES.

The Santa Clause
Jingle All the Way
Jack Frost
Home Alone 2
All I Want for Christmas
Elf

A Christmas Story
Home Alone

These are not the typical holiday movie classics. But these are my Christmas movie classics that I try to watch every year during the holiday season. I can't wait to start watching! They are not all award winning movies, but they do serve their purpose of making me laugh.
It leaves me with the warm Christmas spirit and simply reminds me of my childhood.

My all time favorite Christmas flick is the movie with Dudley Moore, John Lithgow, and David Huddleston called Santa Claus.  I must've watched this movie every single year since 1985.  I even have it on DVD for my future generations :)

Santa Claus the Movie

Let the holiday season begin.
God bless us everyone ;)

.el peluquero.

Property of Nickelodeon
This is one of my favorite Dora Characters!

In an episode of Dora the Explorer, they go on a journey to get to "el peluquero" (hairdresser/barber). And the el peluquero happens to be a good looking guy. Haha. Not only is he a good looking barber, but he can also sing. Maybe that's why I have a school-girl crush on him. Nonetheless, the episode is so fun and amazing...especially the song!

.fun to be a kid.

I was just going through my photos and came across this picture of my cousin's daughter, Juliana.  I saw it and just started to laugh :)

This was taken in the Philippines in the back of her family's car. We were just sitting and waiting for my cousins and she decided that she wanted to hang off of the car ceiling bars and bounce around the seats. She was having so much - dancing, bouncing, swinging, and laughing while I sat and watched her.  Kids are just so unpredictable and always find a way to have fun regardless of where they are and what the situation is.

I'm going to take it from Juliana and just "hang from bars and bounce on seats." Have fun and make due with what we have. Life is too short to actually just "sit still."

.baby giraffe diaper cake.

I recently made this gender-neutral diaper cake for my coworker's sister-in-law.  She provided me with the Sophie Giraffe Teether for the topper of the cake.  It's a pretty cute toy and it squeaks!  Making diaper cakes are always fun for me.  But the best part of making this cake was the reaction my husband had about the giraffe.  He really really liked it and wanted to keep it.

Just some background info, my husband has a collection of random things from Pez dispensers,  little green army men, to an awkwardly big BIGGIE doll. And he keeps this collection on top of our TV.  So, when he saw the Giraffe he wanted to add it to his collection. He even put a post-it note in the area where the Giraffe should be.

I obviously wasn't going to let him keep it (since it technically didn't belong to me).  But I did promise him that as soon as we get pregnant, I will order him a Sophie Giraffe to add to his collection of chotchkies.

Here's to getting pregnant and adding to his collection :)

.the back up plan.

So, I came to the conclusion that I am slightly obsessed with the movie, The Back-Up Plan. Every time it's on Showtime or any of the premium channels, I find myself watching it.

For someone who is trying to get pregnant and not having any luck, I find this movie reassuring.  It'll happen to us one day soon (i hope!).
